Description
WWI, Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train, hat badge in oxidised bronze (51.5mm), by Stokes & Sons, Melb, two lugs on reverse. Some oxidation on reverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.

The Royal Australian Naval Bridging Train was a short lived and relatively unknown unit. It was formed by the RAN in February 1915 and attached to the AIF, first serving in Gallipoli and then the Sinai and Palestine Campaigns. It was disbanded in May 1917.
