Syria, Kingdom of, Alexander I Balas, (152-145 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.00 g), Antioch on the Orontes mint, undated issue but issued 149/8-148/7 B.C., obv. diademed head of Alexander I to right, dotted border, rev. Apollo Delphios seated left on omphalos holding bow and arrow, on right, BASILEOS and ALEXANDROU and on left [Q]EOPATOROS and [E]UERGETOU, DHRK monogram in exergue, IA monogram in outer left field, (cf.S.7035, SC 1785.5b, HGC 9, 887a). Off centred obverse, good very fine and rare.
